We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join us as a PIER71™ ME Superhero Intern (a.k.a Marketing and Events Intern).

As a ME Superhero Intern, you will work closely with our dynamic team to drive innovation, support startups and play an integral part in marketing, communications and running with many thrilling projects. Job Description

  • Intern will work closely with the Programme Managers and Marketing & Communications Manager from the PIER71TM team

 

Marketing & Communications

  • Communications – assist Marketing & Communications in the planning, execution and management of the marketing and communications plan for PIER71TM. The stakeholders to reach out to include and are not limited to entrepreneurs, corporates, investors, researchers, etc.
  • Marketing Collaterals – design and deliver marketing collaterals for the various events and programmes rolled out by PIER71TM. Deliverable may also involve working with and managing external vendors.
  • Content Creation for Digital Marketing Channels – plan, create and deliver content that is suitable for the PIER71TM programme on its digital marketing channels, including its website and monthly newsletter. This may be rolled out as part of the communications plan and synced with the programme’s calendar of events.
  • External Community Outreach – help to plan and roll out a series of marketing outreach initiatives and community events to improve brand recognition, landscape scanning and expansion of community.
  • Competitive Analysis – carry out a SWOT analysis of PIER71TM in relation to 5 key competitors to build a stronger PIER71 brand for next 5 year plan.

 

Programme Management

  • Event Management – plan and execute PIER71TM events not limited to visits, regular workshops, talks, tradeshows, webinars, networking events, etc. You should also aim to improve the experience for all participants.

 

Deliverables

  • PIER71 content development for newsletter, website and social media updates
  • Short video storyboard, filming and production for PIER71TM 5th year anniversary, corporate video and startup publicity
  • Set up of Alumni database, plan and conduct face-to-face interviews and surveys, photoshoot and filming
  • Organise workshops, visits to PIER71TM, plan and execute alumni networking events
  • Organise PIER71 and startups’ PR and marketing related activities in relation to exhibition participation
  • Any other projects as deemed fit

 

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiar with social media management, SEO tools and analytics technologies
  • A compelling writer with excellent storytelling skills and graphic sensibility
  • Proficient in WordPress, Canva, Eventbrite, Adobe Illustrator
  • Event management experience required, organising webinars and livestreams would be an advantage
  • Possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills; preferably a multi-tasker with a sense of humour
  • Keen interest in the start-up ecosystem, the topics of decarbonisation, digitalisation and supply chain resilience in the maritime industry, would be a plus.

Phase 1: Fit Check - Market Discovery and Validation

Validate your tech, test your assumptions, and find the perfect match for your innovation. A review will be conducted at the end of Phase 1. Only selected participants will advance to Phase 2.


Phase 2: Gap Busters - Navigating New Markets

Now, it's time to bridge the commercial gap. In this phase, you’ll partner with industry veterans who bring sharp business insights to the table. Together, you’ll navigate and conquer markets that may be uncharted territory for your startup.
