Open Ocean Robotics provides a hardware and software platform that utilizes robotics, AI, and real-time alerts to monitor a region of interest. DataXplorer, our long endurance uncrewed surface vehicle (USV) is equipped with visual and thermal computer vision to detect small craft without AIS transponders and identify unusual behaviours. Those detections are transmitted in real-time to XplorerView, our secure cloud-based portal that alerts relevant stakeholders including watchkeepers, ports, and enforcement agencies. This solution is compatible with existing systems, allowing detections to be transmitted to other platforms via APIs and XplorerView can fuse additional external data feeds for enhanced analytics. Autonomous and persistent monitoring by the vehicles allows this to be a cost-effective solution that can be deployed with minimal specialized resources or training. This system allows users to get day and night-time alerts of suspicious activities to reduce piracy, improve crew safety, and safeguard shipping corridors.
